Solent Airport welcomes new operator

Fareham Borough Council has today officially transferred the operation of Solent Airport at Daedalus to EGHF Ltd, marking the commencement of an initial five-year contract, with options to extend.

EGHF will be working closely with the Council over the first year to assess the feasibility of a range of potential future options to support the Council’s vision, including attracting new employment and business opportunities to the site.

Matt Wilkins, Director of EGHF, has been working with the existing team at the airport for a number of months already and brings with him an extensive and proven track record within aviation, underpinned by strong sector connections and deep industry knowledge. 

Matt said:

“I am delighted to be taking control of Solent Airport after a number of months getting everything ready. The process has included a number of incredibly complex tasks, which can only be undertaken by aviation professionals with the highest accreditation. However, all of this has happened without a hitch and to schedule. All of the various licenses, certifications, approvals and insurances are in place and I am very excited about what the future holds for Solent Airport.”
